Jim has over 15 years of experience working in The Bahamas luxury real estate markets. He grew up in Lyford Cay on the west side of New Providence Island. His grandparents moved the family from Toronto to the Bahamas in the 1950’s to develop the Nassau Beach Hotel. Over the past 70-years they have established a deep-rooted connection to the island nation and its residents. Jim attended boarding school in Ontario, Canada and university in Virginia, USA before returning home to the Bahamas. He holds a BSc. in Economics and a minor is Real Estate Management from Virginia Tech University. His primary brokerage focus has always been in the Bahamas luxury communities, and he has a proven track record for production. James was Top Producer at Bahamas Realty Ltd. in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018 before he left to start his own brokerage. In November 2018 he founded LX Bahamas Luxury Realty Group which quickly established itself as a formidable player in the Bahamas real estate market. The firm grew rapidly and expanded from New Providence to Exuma, Eleuthera and Harbour Island. In September 2021, LX Bahamas became Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Bahamas Real Estate being the first BHHS office in the Caribbean. James is also a licensed appraiser with significant experience in the industry. He has completed several international appraisal courses to further his education and is one of the most educated and qualified appraisers in the country. His firm currently operates the top real estate appraisal business in the Bahamas and is on the approved appraisers list of every bank and lending institution in the Bahamas as well as Government of the Bahamas and many international firms. He is the former three-term Chairman of the Bahamas Real Estate Association (BREA) Appraisal Committee and sat on the Bahamas Real Estate Association Board of Directors for six-years. James stepped down from the BREA Board in 2022 to focus on the growth of the firm and Paul Antonas who heads up the appraisal department at the firm is now Chairman of the BREA Appraisal committee. Jim is fluent in Spanish which has proven to be a huge asset to his Spanish speaking clients over the years.
