Today's homebuyers may find themselves with needs slightly different to the summer or spring wave. As kids settle into school, many parents or those seeking to expand their families are in the market for a new family home. Here are a few trends that this season's homebuyers have been looking for most:
Additional space: Bedrooms and Outdoors
With a trend of multigenerational living increasing, over half of respondents in a survey of respective homebuyers said that their focus is on the number of bedrooms as they may seek to accommodate more residents, expand their family or host more often. In the spirit of hosting and family gathering, additional priorities a spacious yard, front porch and large primary suites with en-suite bathrooms for privacy. They may also be drawn in by entertainment features like built-in bars, pools or open kitchens.
Vintage and Personal Touches
Vintage is back in, as buyers seek these personal touches as opposed to high-priced new furnishings. Upcycled or inherited pieces and antiques add personality and spark conversation, tying back into our hosting and entertainment trend.
Luxury and Design Trends
For buyers with more budget flexibility, their wish lists may focus on luxurious and design-focused features like monochromatic schemes for walls, trim, and furniture, with variations of colors like blues, greens, and yellows. Natural, light-colored wood floors and cabinetry, paired with stone, linen, and cotton, remain popular for their calming, earthy feel.
